1. JUNE 11th GIG
Red Poppy Arthouse, San Francisco. There's a new hot spot in the Mission
called the Red Poppy that is dedicated to presenting fine arts. Copus
is honored to be performing there on SATURDAY, JUNE 11th, and we'd love
to see your smiling faces there! 2698 Folsom @ 23rd Street. 9pm. $7-10
cover at the door.
"Bienvenido and welcome to Red Poppy. A place for poetry. A flower
planted during the hour of the garden . A family which hopes to create
progressive sustainable social change in Latin America and the world
through art. We are rooted in la tierra of Latin America from the silver
stones of Macchu Picchu to the high deserts of Mexico, from the soul
of Cuba to the blue snow-capped volcanoes and ancient forests of Southern
Chile. Red Poppy is a new progressive 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated
to spreading the warm peace and compassion of the Chilean poet Pablo
Neruda around the world. Making a difference in this world, one poem
at a time." www.redpoppy.net.

JUNE 25th GIG
Summer Arts Fest, Monterey. Copus has been asked to perform at the Summer
Fest Arts + Crafts Faire sponsored by the Pacific Repertory Theatre
in Monterey on SATURDAY, JUNE 25th. The event is held outside right
at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey from 9am - 6pm both Saturday and Sunday.
I'm thinking Clint Eastwood will drop by to speak a few words with Copus!

3. WHISPERS CD
It's here!!! Sometimes lyrical and sweet, sometimes rhythmic and atonal,
always rich with melodies and powerful technique - Phoenix Rising will
soothe your soul. Their debut CD "Whispers" is a film score
awaiting a film. Musical genres shift easily between classical, jazz,
and new age to create warmth, sophistication, and percussive syncopations.
The intertwining of piano and flute elicits moods of reflection, poignancy,
humor, and ultimate joy. "Whispers" is available now at our
independent label website - www.copusmusic.com
- and will soon also be available online at Apple iTunes, Delvian Records,
Flute World and offline at Borders, Barnes & Noble.
The CD release party
and performance is scheduled for FRIDAY night, JULY 8th, at Clarion
Music (www.clarionmusic.com).
Special guests will include Copus, poet Clara Hsu, and other surprises.
$10 cover at the door or $15 with the purchase of "Whispers".
If you are interested in a complimentary pass, please email wendy@copus.net.
Now you have no excuses! 816 Sacramento Street. 9pm.

5. WENDY'S WEDDING COMPOSITION
Wendy has just returned from a festive family gathering centered around
her nephew's wedding. The event was held in Holland, Michigan, home
of Hope College, where the couple met. The wedding was beautiful and
included Wendy performing her piano compositions during the prelude
and postlude, along with a piece written especially for the couple entitled
"Grace". Congratulations, Bryant and Becky! May you have many
exciting years together! (P.S. Stay tuned for announcements of how to
order an original piece of music written, performed, and framed for
your special event.)

7. POETRY SECTION
In honor of Memorial Day and the memories of important people in our
lives, here's a tender poem by our own Royal Kent. Enjoy.
You will never know
How many stars
Are in the sky
You will never know
How many fish
Occupy the seas
You will never know
How many tears
Have gone dry
You will never know
How much you
Mean to me
You will never know
Why mountains
Rise
You may never know
Why water
Falls
You will never know
What I see
In your eyes
Just know
That love
Conquers all.

Stay healthy and strong! Happy Spring!
