1. SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER. Thanks to the generous donations and contributions of all of you (tickets, raffles, Mexican visit), the great folks at Walnut Creek Civic Arts, and the untiring Williams family (flutist Monica and visiting relatives from Chicago), we had a GREAT fundraiser last week! If you missed the event and the raffle, you can always alleviate your nagging guilt by contributing to the Copus promotional tour by mailing a donation to: Copus Music, 2191 34th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94116. Thanks again for your love and support!
2. COPUS PROMOTIONAL TOUR: STEP #1, NASHVILLE. Monica, Royal, and Wendy are heading to the Nashville New Music Conference on Wednesday. They'll be performing an 'unofficial unoffical showcase' (this is guerrilla warfare!) at a great restaurant/club called Cafe 123 (visit www.faisons.com to be tempted by the yummy Louisiana fare) on Friday night, September 12th. In addition, they'll be hustling their little butts off for 4 days at the conference. 3. RADIO SHOW CONTINUATION. We still have been drawing a steady following from our Internet radio show, "Poets + Composers". It airs every Tuesday night at 9pm PST on www.artistfirst.com. Coming up soon will be internationally-acclaimed poet ruth weiss and singer-songwriters Joel Streeter and Eric Moore. A dynamic combination!
4. UPCOMING OCTOBER GIGS. Copus will be returning to visit our new friends in Vallejo in October. Rafael's Bar is a wondrous haven of intelligent, fun people who crave the spoken word. Will let you know which Thursday as soon as we confirm it with producers extraordinaire, Martha Cinader and Tony Mims (whose baby is due any second!).Also, we have been negotiating with the folks at Red Devil Lounge here in San Francisco about some dates in October. Stay tuned for details.
5. MISSION HEADQUARTERS. Thanks to the brilliant partnering of real estate whizzes Kenneth Collins + Associates and Royal Kent, Copus is busily establishing another headquarters in the Mission District. Those of you who go back all the way with Copus will remember hearing Ken play percussion with us 'in the beginning'! More developments on the way!
